National Nutrition Month
National Nutrition Month is observed every March to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity.
Nutrition is essential because it provides the body with the energy and nutrients needed for growth, repair, immune function and overall health.
Proper nutrition ensures that the body receives the right balance of macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and water) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) to function optimally.
Good nutrition helps prevent chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and certain cancers. Adequate intake of essential nutrients supports tissue formation, cell repair, hormone and enzyme production, and strengthens the immune system.
SWLA Center for Health Services is here to help you reach your health and nutritional goals. Our Registered Dietitian Madison Ledoux is here to evaluate your nutritional needs by reviewing medical history, lifestyle, lab results and dietary habits. Through a consultation, our registered dietitian will be able to create a personalized meal plan that fits your needs, provide medical nutrition therapy and educate you on healthy eating to improve overall health.
